My name is Nik and I’m an artist from Salt Lake City. I've spent my whole life drawing, painting, and creating things in general. My family gave me the nickname Poppa Nikels for being the old man of the house. I thought it was funny and have been running with the name ever since.

I want to bring color into peoples lives. I feel that our normal day to day lives are bland, toned down, and quite depressing to be honest. I would like to remind everyone even though times are hard, and seem bleak the world is actually alot more fun than we think. My goal is to have observer get sucked into the piece like a tractor beam from some other dimensional craft even for only a minute so they can just stop and take a break from their daily grind. The way I approach my work is all in what I'd like the observer to feel. I believe as I myself continue to grow and develop not only as an artist but a human being, that I can articulate my thoughts and feelings into something beautiful that we all feel together as one.
